An Artistically Classic Holiday - HOLIDAY HOUSE TOUR & BOUTIQUE 2016

The Gardeners’ Guild of Braintree is proud to present their version of “An Artistically Classic Holiday” on December 4, 2016.

It’s that time of year again when the Gardeners’ Guild of Braintree is focused on preparing for its annual Holiday House Tour and Holiday Boutique. This is the 41st year that the Guild will offer what has become one of the annual local events that opens Braintree’s Christmas season.
On Sunday, December 4, 2016 Guild members will transform the beautiful unique 'Monticello' inspired home, designed by the owners Frank & Christy Marinelli, at 1 Marinelli Court into a vision of Christmas.  “An Artistically Classic Holiday” will be showcased from 1:00 to 5:00 pm.  Both Frank and Christy are artists and exhibit their paintings within the home. As in past seasons, the style, colors and unique décor of the home influences the choice of theme and color that is used to decorate both inside and outside the Marinelli home.
The architecture of the house is a neoclassical rendition of “Monticello” with its atrium style foyer and many balconies/decks off of most rooms. The Gardeners' Guild of Braintree will be decorating 10 rooms in keeping with our theme, from the Grand Foyer to the elegant Dining Room this home will inspire us to bring our 'magical holiday decorating skills' to this beautiful home.
Parking will be available on Middle Street, Marianelli Court, Doris Road and other nearby side streets.  Alternatively, in the event that parking becomes limited, the Gardeners’ Guild of Braintree will provide a free van shuttle from the Braintree Senior Center (located at 71 Cleveland Avenue) on Sunday, December 4th from 1-5 pm, every 15 minutes to Marinelli Court and back to Senior Center.
On the same day a Holiday Boutique will be held in the Braintree Town Hall Auditorium at One JFK Memorial Parkway from 11am - 4pm.  As always there will be decorated fresh green wreaths and stunning centerpieces made by Guild members.  More than 40 vendors will be displaying and selling their handcrafted wares such as clothing, jewelry, home decor items, gift baskets and holiday foods.  While at the Boutique, relax a few minutes with friends and enjoy the homemade goodies and hot or cold beverages with the Guild’s compliments.
Tickets are available at the Senior Center, Town Hall, Almquist, Caruso’s Jewelers, The Potting Bench, Spa by Nancy and 3 Braintree Co-Op locations or from any Guild member.  Tickets are $16 in advance and $20 on the day of the House Tour.  Each House Tour ticket will also cover entry into the Holiday Boutique.
This annual event is the largest fundraiser for the Guild.  All funds raised benefit various Braintree community projects such as the $1000 annual scholarships for graduating Braintree High School seniors, donations of books to the Braintree Public Schools (40 books donated this year) and various Pond Meadow Park programs including scholarships for summer camp.  The funds raised also help support the beautification displays during the summer at various parks and sites, as well as plant donations and maintenance at the Library, the Thayer House Herb Gardens, the Marge Crispin senior center, Braintree Department of Elder Affairs and Hospice.
